Christmas Movies from 2002 at Chapel Hill
Here are some videos I found on an old hard drive. These were taken from the first digital camera I owned and they are rather primitive. I can’t figure out how to make them show directly on the page, but it you click on the links, they will open by themselves on a new page. Yes, they are tiny! But I hope they bring back some good memories.

Christmas in Chapel Hill
Christmas 1986 – North Bergen
I first thought these photos were from the Weehawken house, but I’m told this is Bob and Jane’s apartment in North Bergen.
Christmas 1969
Our first Christmas in the Redding house in 1969. Dorothy got the big gift that year, her own sewing machine. Lots of other great gifts and always amazing how much there was under the tree. Can’t ever remember an unhappy Christmas…
Christmas Eve 1969 – Trimming the Tree
Redding – Uncle Bob and Dad. Dad dumping Ken out of the wheelbarrow in the back yard. Making snowmen on the from lawn. Maureen was in a blue “hand me down” snow suit and I’m sure she was wearing some boys’ boots! Trimming the tree, Brian, Tom, Chris and Maureen (almost 2). Ken’s looking like he had a bad day. Grandma Albin joined in as well. Bob and Steve appear and Steve’s helping Maureen to decorate the tree. –DAA
New Year’s Eve – 1966
Very nice shots of Mom and Dad dressed in their finest!
Christmas Double Exposure – 1965
The 8mm camera we had required that the film be “flipped” after it got to the end on the first run. The camera used one side of the film at a time. There was no indicator on the camera if the film got flipped and Dad lost track of flipping this one, so it was double exposed. –SJA
Tom gets a playdough factory, Ken gets a 3D slide viewer, Steve got some matchbox cars and a mini pool table, I see some tinker toys, I got a snow globe and a dress. Bob got a skateboard and an Etch a Sketch. Everyone looks so happy. Dinner with Grandma Albin and Aunt Hilde at Uncle Bob and Aunt Peggy’s house. There is a clip with Laddie. –DAA

Christmas Eve / Christmas Day 1965
Christmas 1965 – Decorating the tree and living room, making cookies and opening gifts. Christmas was always grand and festive on Montauk Ave. A time when we could be in the living room. Chris would have been about 18 months. Ken was 6 and it was his turn to put the star up. Tom was 2 and Brian 4.
Dad made that tree for the outside and every year filled it with fresh greens. Mom always made spritz cookies. I remember those reindeer cookies. We thought they were special.
What a sport dad was. He bought mom an iron! He also bought mom an Oster blender. Wonder if she ever made a well-deserved Margarita with it? Chris got a Tyke Bike. –DAA

Two movies; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Both grandmother’s in the house for this holiday! Outside in the snow making snowmen. Grandma Albin is holding Chris. Decorating the tree – it’s Bob’s turn to put up the star. Mom making stuffing. Grandma Schottman was posing for the movie. Dad always took a picture of us walking up to go to bed on Christmas Eve. –DAA
Christmas 1962
This is a long one, but worth it. All the boys had matching pajamas for Christmas courtesy Grandma Schottman. The caps were made for pinheads, but otherwise they were great!
